Background
Erika Dillard founded PopCheck Technologies after seeing the difficulties patients and clinicians face in recognizing complications following surgery. Her experience in neurosurgery informed the company’s focus on monitoring patients during recovery.
PopCheck’s work centers on biosensor technology and a connected platform intended to help identify postoperative risks, including blood clots. Her path illustrates how a problem encountered in clinical practice can become the starting point for a medical-device venture.
